How does the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 perform when playing Fortnite, Dota 2 and CS:GO?

There is much to say about Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16. The first thing I should highlight is the aluminum finish, giving that touch of solidity in all its parts. This also means that the weight of the equipment is 2.60 kilos with dimensions of 35.5 x 26.6 x 2.05 centimeters. The design is somewhat gamer without losing elegance. I would say that the concept is quite a hybrid between sober and aggressive. The best thing is that the fingerprints are not recorded.

We turn around and we will notice the air vents and the speakers, which are six in total and the audio system includes two-way AI noise cancellation. In addition to the air inlets that you see on the screen, there are others that you will notice when you open the laptop and the secondary panel, or also known as ROG ScreenPad Plus. To this we must add the Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut, a liquid metal for greater thermal transfer; the AAS Plus 2.0 system; AC Flow Fans and five heatpipes inside. Although it’s a lot to say about the cooling system, I don’t recommend using the laptop on your lap because the heat still makes you uncomfortable.

Now it’s time to talk about accessibility. There is a single Jack port, an HDMI 2 input, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, an RJ45 LAN port, and a microSD card reader.

We open the laptop and we will notice two panels that open automatically. The main screen is a 16-inch WQXGA Mini LED with 2560 x 1600 in a 16:10 aspect. The refresh rate is 165 Hz with a response time of 3 microseconds, features FreeSync Premium Pro technology, supports Dolby Vision HDR, and has 100% DCI-P3 coverage. The other panel is the 14-inch ScreenPad Plus with 3840 x 1100 (4K) resolution. We are talking about an IPS panel with Stylus support. Here you can well move all the windows you want and click with your fingers.

Another detail is the keyboard. You’ll notice the design is narrower, and while the dimensions are adequate with 1.7mm key travel, it is uncomfortable for those who are just adapting. Personally, staying with the wrists in the air did not seem entirely comfortable to me, but they still manage to have the numeric keypad on the pad. And about the latter, the design seems too short to walk through two screens. The use of the mouse seems mandatory to me so as not to waste time scrolling.

In terms of performance, the processor is Ryzen 9 6900HX eight-core with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card. Added to this are 32GB of RAM and 2TB of storage. All this with the Windows 11 operating system. Here it is also worth noting the Armory Crate where you can manage and review all aspects of the laptop, even customize profiles with automatic settings for your games. The battery is 90 Wh and has a fast charge so you reach 50% in 30 minutes.
